The bitch that blew in

As you have probably noticed in the background of my pictures, I live on the water. My parents found the property we live on around 1985 and my dad helped to build our house. We live on the south shore of Long Island, on a river that leads out to the Great South Bay.
This is the back of my house, I took this standing on one of our floating docks a few summers ago.
This was my backyard the day after Sandy. I luckily was away visiting the boy when Sandy hit, but my parents and brother saw a foot of water enter our home.

A lot of work needs to be done before our lives will be back to normal but things are already looking up for us. We are so much better off than many people who have tragically been effected by this storm and we have wonderful friends and family who have helped us through these first 10days. Now if only I could find a way to get gas without waiting on line for over an hour I will be happy.
Sandy was my bad news and will certainly contribute to yet again a lack of posting but I also have a new job! This job requires me to wear scrubs so I may not be very fashionable in the upcoming weeks but I will try to sneak a post in with some real clothes and some happier vibes.
